Solapur’s Nihar Kulkarni is selected for World Deaf chess competition.

Nihar kulkarni from Modern Highschool is selected for World Deaf chess competition. Under 15 Deaf chess competition was held in Hydrabad during 18 to 22nd Dec. He scores 5 out of 5 marks in national level competition. He defeated Sonu from Bihar, Dharmraj from Rajsthan, V. Obilesu from Andhra Pradesh, K. Kabil Raj from Tamilnadu and qualifies for final. In final He defeated Siddhesh Dharmadhikari from Maharashtra.

Dr. Pimparkar invented Flexible Electronics in Nanotechnology.

Carbon Nanotubes.

Dr. Ninad Pimparkar from Solapur and Mr. Jaydeep Kulkarni from Walchandnagar were the team members who invented Flexible Electronics in Nanotechnology. The team was working on this Technology from last three years under the guidance of Prof. Mr. Ashraf Alam in Perdue University of U.S.
Due to this Technology Transistors are easily manufactured by using Carbon Nanotube nets. To manufacture Plastic circuits these transistors plays important role.
The Technology to develop transistors from Carbon Nanotubes nets is called as Nanonets. Main obstruction to develop these Nanonets is metal Nanotubes. There was high risk of short circuit due to metal used in Nanotubes.
The team develops Flexible Circuit by using more than 100 transistors. This is the largest circuit in Nanonet Technology. Now by this Technology, a circuit can be developed by using more than 10000 transistors. High quality, low cost and light weight Integrated circuits can be developed by using this Technology.
Electronic skin covers of airplanes can be manufactured by using Nanonets. It is useful in diagnosis of Airplane cracks. Solar cell on plastic, also information and photographs can showed on electronic paper are possible due to this Technology. As well as foldable Television screen can be manufactured by this Technology.

Hanumant Gajre got Vasantrao Naik Sheti Nishtha Award.

Aran’s (Tal. Madha) progressive farmer Hanumant Gajre got Sheti Nishtha Award for the year 2007-08. He is producer of Pomegranate. He was exporting Pomegranate from last three years to countries like Saudi Arab; Europe etc. The Award is presented by Honorable Governor Mr. M. C. Jameer at Nagpur. The Honorable Chief Minister Mr.Vilasrao Deshmukh and State Agriculture Minister Mr. Balasaheb Thorat were present for the ceremony.

Anagha Deshpande is selected for Women’s Indian Cricket Team.

Anagha Deshpande from Solapur is selected in Women’s Indian Cricket team. She is selected as Batsman and alternative Wicketkeeper. She is selected for Australian tour of 5 one-day matches and one 20-20 match, which is starting from 28th October. It is her third abroad tour.
She already participated in 30 National competitions in which she played 16 matches for senior team and 14 matches for junior team. She played as Captain of Maharashtra Cricket Team for seven times. She made unbeatable 95 runs which is her highest score while playing for junior team at Mumbai. She is selected in Indian Cricket Team for second time.

2005 (Lahore) - Vs Pakistan. (Selected as batsman and wicketkeeper for 4 one day matches.)
She made not out 57 and 18 runs. India won the series as 4-0

Rohit Jadhav is selected in Maharashtra Cricket Team.

Ranji cricket player Rohit Jadhav from Solapur is selected in Maharashtra State Cricket Team for Cornel C. K. Naidu Cup. First match vs Sourashtra will be held at Rajkot on 10th October. He is selected for state cricket team for third time. He had already played four Ranji and one Dulip cup. He is player of Solapur Sports Institute.

In State Chess Competition Solapur gets First place in Men’s and Second in Women’s.

Shreyank Shah gets first place in (under seventeen) Manorama Cup State Chess Competition and Soniya Deshmukh gets second place. Yesterday competition held at Uplap Hall, Solapur. Shreyank get 6.5 points and Soniya get 5 points. Both the players are selected for National Chess Competition which is starting from October 8, 2008 at Aurangabad. Both the players are congratulated by Solapur District Chess Association (SDCA). The SDCA Members Jagdish Jaju, Sharad Naik, Prashant Gangaji, Sumukh Gaikwad were present for the ceremony.

Golden future for Marathi Films. - Bhagyashree Patwardhan.

While addressing press conference at Solapur Bhagyashree said, “There is golden future for Marathi films, if audience continues their positive attitude about Marathi Films.” She was present at Prabhat Theatre for the show of film “Mi Havi Ka Tee Havi.” She appreciated Actor, Producer Sharad Bansode’s hard work and good abilities. She said I am very thankful to Sharad for giving debut Marathi film. She also says, “thanks to affectionate Solapurkars for giving me love.”

Asia’s first Black Belt Lady.

Sangeeta Jadhav from Solapur was the Asia’s first Black Belt achiever in 1988 in ladies when she was 18. From 1988 to 1990 there were no more competitors in ladies, so she had participated in men’s group and got Gold Medals in sequential 3 years. Although she was mother of two children’s, she participated in Germany and defeated 120 competitors in 1999. In 1986 she was elected as Indian Team Coach. Sangeeta & her Husband also wrote a famous book “RANRAG” on Ancient Warrior Art of India.
Now days she is well known in Solapur as social worker. She is the founder member of Sanskruti Pratishthan.

Premier Show of Marathi Movie at Prabhat Theatre.

Premier Show of Marathi Movie“Mi Havi Ka Tee Havi” was celebrated in Prabhat Theatre at Solapur. Film Producer, Story Writer, Director, Actor Sharad Bansode & Telugu actress Tejshree were present for ceremony. “Mi Havi Ka Tee Havi” was Sharad Bansode’s second movie after success of Mumbai Amchich. Sharad Bansode from Solapur is playing main role as Bhau, Maine Pyar Kiya fame Bhagyshree is playing his wife’s role & famous Telugu actress Tejashree is as Radhika. It is Bhagyshree & Tejashree`s debut Marathi film. This film is also dubbed in Telugu as “ Mogudu Penlam Mariyu Aavida”.

Mr. Ramdas Sabban advocate from Solapur is appointed as Special Prosecutor by Mr. M. C. Jameer, Governor of Maharashtra state. He is practicing in Mumbai High Court since from 20 years. He was also lecturer in Govt. Law College in Mumbai for five years & as lecturer for L.L.M. in Mumbai University for three years. He is member of administration committee of Solapur University.

SARLA YEOLEKAR. Sarla Yeolekar opens the door of bollywood in 1975 by starring the Hindi Movie Zinda Dil. She was the first actress starring in Hindi Movie from Solapur. Another star from Solapur is famous actor Mr. Atul Kulkarni. He played main role in ‘Satta` & as supporting actor in Hey Ram, Chandani Bar & ‘Rang De Basanti` with Amir Khan. He also got several national awards for famous roles. List is as follows. From 1989 to 1992 five best actor award & one best Director award in state level drama competition hold by Maharashtra state government. The play ‘Gandhi Viruddha Ganddhi` gave Atul 8 best actor awards for the year 1996. It was a record in Marathi Professional Theatre.
Atul received his first National Award for Best Actor in supporting role in the year 1999 for the film Hey Ram presented by K.R. Narayanan, the Honorable President of India.

Solapury chadder in Lakme fashion show.

Solapur is situated in southern-western Maharashtra at the boundary of Andhra Pradesh & Karnataka which is also known as textile city. Solapur’s textile business is famous from 20th century. Some famous names in textile industries were Juni Mill, Laxmi-Vishnu Mill, Narsing Girji Mill, Jamshree Mill.
Juni Mill was one of the Asia’s largest mill at that time. It has in house power generation plant & excess electricity generated is supplied to whole Solapur city. Now all the mills except Jamshree are liquidated due to owner-labor disputes & highly interference of union leaders, political leaders & gang wars.
Now a day thousands of small handloom mills are running in good condition. Their main products are chadders, bed sheets, pillow covers, Turkish towels, napkins, track suits for sportsman etc. All the products are famous all over the world. Some of them are only export their production.
Mean time Solapury chadders (The chadders are famous as Solapury chadders) are introduced at Lakme fashion show by famous designer James Ferreira. This is great & energetic achievement for textile industry. And that incident forces me to publish this post. The local MLA opposes to use chadders for such fashion shows. In my opinion there is nothing illegal to use chadders for such fashion shows. I think it is because of generation gap. Soniya got Bronze Medal in World school chess competition.

Today I am very happy to publish this post that Soniya Deshmukh from Solapur got bronze medal in indivisuals in “World school ( under 15 ) chess competition” & gold medal in group victory. The competition was held in Singapur. Tomorrow on 2nd August she is arriving in Solapur. A grand welcome ceremony is arranged for her arrival by District chess association & Solapur chess academy.

Shripadrao Allagikar from Solapur is awarded as Doctorate (Doctor of Arts) by Ashwood University of United States of America. He was the first Indian who achieve Doctorate in Vaastushastra. He submites thessis on “Impact of Vastrushastra on Human Life.” He is also awarded as Bharat Gaurav samman puraskar in 2004, Rashtriya Vaastu Ratna Award in 2004, Rashtriya Vaastu Gaurav fellowship award,Samajratna award, Rajiv Gandhi excelance award, Priyadarshini Indira Gandhi award in 2005, Vastu excelance award & Samaj Gaurav award in 2006, Vastushree, Vastushiromani, Vastusamrat award in 2007 & Vastu Pandit award in 2008.
