In State Chess Competition Solapur gets First place in Men’s and Second in Women’s.

Shreyank Shah gets first place in (under seventeen) Manorama Cup State Chess Competition and Soniya Deshmukh gets second place. Yesterday competition held at Uplap Hall, Solapur. Shreyank get 6.5 points and Soniya get 5 points. Both the players are selected for National Chess Competition which is starting from October 8, 2008 at Aurangabad. Both the players are congratulated by Solapur District Chess Association (SDCA). The SDCA Members Jagdish Jaju, Sharad Naik, Prashant Gangaji, Sumukh Gaikwad were present for the ceremony.

well..the news is nice and compact but what about the player Rucha pujari(u-17 girl)who stood 1st? no mention about her nor the player vishal(u-17 boys) who stood second?
